Distance

Distance is a must, without it, people wonder why they are getting hit. Being in the wrong place at the wring time must be avoided at all cost. I observed over time people don’t know distance or they are a natural at it. Boxers are constantly checking themselves for the best possible placement for advancement. One thing I’ve noticed about boxers is. they like to get hit. They will get hit over and over in one round just to find the right place for the K.O. In a “Street Fight” there are knives involved and possible more that will only take one or two strikes for a visit to the Hospital.

There are three basic positioning. ONE, TWO and THREE: 1) This is where the point of contact is. Where all your planning and training will end up.  2) The starting point at which you will be committed to start your attack. Stepping needs to be exact, balance is a must, intensity grows, questioning ability seeps in, and perception begins to disappears. 3) The planning stage, looking what you are up against, pride, ego, confidence linger around this place. Fear can overwhelm thoughts also. Excitement is not far behind at this point.
